Block and report
Block someone, report a member, post, comment, photo, chat or live, and find out what moderators do next.
Block someone
- Open their profile and tap ••• at the top right. You'll also find ••• on their posts and comments, in a chat with them, and on the Pairing page.
- Tap ⛔ Block, then Block again to confirm.
When you block someone:
- they aren't told you blocked them;
- you stop seeing each other's profiles, posts, comments and photos;
- neither of you can message the other;
- you both stop following each other, and any family link between you is removed;
- pairing requests between you are cancelled, and an active pairing ends (they're told the pairing ended). If they held your key, your lock carries on and you manage it yourself;
- calls between you end, and you're removed from each other's lives.
Unblock someone
Go to Settings, find Blocked, and tap Unblock next to their name. The Blocked list only shows once you've blocked someone. Unblocking doesn't bring back follows, family links or pairings.
Report something
Reports are confidential: the person isn't told who reported them.
- Tap ••• on the member's profile, post, comment or photo, or in your chat with them, then tap 🚩 Report. In a live, tap Report, or tap ⋯ next to someone's chat message and choose Report.
- Choose a reason:
- Harassment or abuse
- Spam or scam
- Appears to be under 18
- Impersonation
- Inappropriate profile content
- Safety concern
- Intimate photo or video shared without consent
- Something else
- If you like, describe what happened.
- Leave Also block ticked to block them at the same time, or untick it. (Reports sent from a live don't block anyone.)
- Tap Send report.
Reporting the same person again adds to your open report instead of starting a new one.
What's shared with moderators
- The report saves what you saw (the profile, post, comment, photo or live chat), so it can still be checked if it's later edited or deleted.
- Reporting a chat shares its latest 50 messages, including any you deleted, and copies of photos and snaps the other person sent. Those copies are deleted 90 days after the report is closed.
- Reporting someone from a group chat shares the group's latest 50 messages since you joined, marking which are theirs, and copies of the photos and video messages they sent. See Group chats.
What moderators do
CageCheck's moderators review every report. Reports about someone under 18, safety concerns, and intimate photos or videos shared without consent are marked urgent.
Depending on what they find, moderators can remove posts, comments and photos, and suspend accounts for a while or for good. A suspended member can't sign in, their posts disappear from the community, and their pairings end.
When your report has been reviewed, you get an alert: Your report was reviewed, saying either that action was taken or that no violation was found this time.
