Terms and policies
The documents every member agrees to, where to read them, and what happens when they change.
Everyone on CageCheck agrees to the same three documents. You can read them any time, signed in or not, and they're linked at the bottom of Settings and on the cagecheck.io home page.
- Terms of Service: the agreement between you and CageCheck. It covers who can use CageCheck (adults only), your account, what CageCheck is and isn't (it isn't medical advice, and it can't physically open a device), ID verification, ending your account, and the legal parts.
- Acceptable Use Policy: what's allowed and what isn't. In short: adults only, consent first, nothing dangerous, no harassment, no selling or asking for money, and no sharing anyone's private photos or information.
- Content and Model Release: your content stays yours. You give CageCheck permission to store it and show it only to the people you choose, and you promise that everyone in what you post is an adult who agreed to it.
A fourth, the Biometric Data Notice and Consent, is only for members who choose the automatic ID check. See Verify your ID.
When you agree
- New members tick a box when they create their account. See Create your account.
- When a document changes, or for members who joined before these documents existed, CageCheck shows Our terms have changed the next time you open the site or app. It lists what's new. Read them, tick the box, and tap Agree and continue. Until you do, the rest of CageCheck waits.
Each document shows its version and date at the top. CageCheck keeps a record of which version you agreed to and when.
If you're locked
Getting out of your lock never waits for the terms. While the terms screen is showing, Emergency unlock is right there on it, and your way out (a lockbox code or a time capsule) still works. See Emergency unlock.
Your other safety tools work there too: Use my safeword on any open task or penance, and End the pairing or Block. Nothing counts as missed while the terms are waiting for you, or for 24 hours after you agree.
If you don't agree
You can't keep using CageCheck without agreeing, but you're never stuck: on the terms screen you can sign out, or delete your account with your password. Deleting removes your profile, posts, photos, messages and lock history. See Account settings.
