Penance videos in the feed

A keyholder can ask to post a live penance recording to the member's profile and the feed. It's only ever posted if the member says yes to that video. Recordings stay private otherwise.

This is for one live penance recording at a time (see Recording a live penance). If the member has agreed to let you post their proof, you can post their accepted proof yourself, recordings included, without asking each time: see Proof on the feed. Once that proof is posted, its recording can't be asked about here too.

Asking to post a video (keyholders)

1. Open the penance from the member's page.
2. Under the recording, tap Ask to post it to the feed.
3. Suggest a caption if you like.
4. Tap Ask Riley.

Riley is notified. While you wait, you can Withdraw request. If Riley keeps the video private, that's final for that video: you can't ask about it again. Otherwise you can ask about the same video up to 3 times in all (for example after withdrawing a request, or after taking the post down yourself).

Deciding (locked members)

You're notified ("Morgan would like to post your live penance video"). On the penance page, under the video, choose:

• Keep it private: nothing is posted, and your keyholder is told.
• Review & decide: opens Post this video?

In Post this video?:

1. Watch the video again.
2. Keep, change or clear the Caption.
3. Under Who sees it, choose Your followers or All members.
4. Tick Everyone who appears in this video is 18 or older and agreed to it being posted.
5. Tap Post video, or Not now to decide later.

Each video is its own decision. Saying yes to one never says yes to another. You need a verified ID to post.

How the post looks

• It goes on your profile, credited "📹 Live penance · set by Morgan".
• It's covered with "🔞 Sensitive video" until someone taps it (unless they've chosen to see sensitive media).
• There's no download button, and it can't be shared to X or Bluesky. Viewers see a faint mark with their own username over it.
• People can react and comment as on any post.

Taking it down

Either of you can take it down at any time:

• You: on the penance page, tap Take it down under the video. Or open the post's ••• menu and tap Delete post.
• Your keyholder: tap Take it down on the post, or on the penance.

The post, its comments and reactions are removed for everyone, and the other person is told. The recording itself stays with the penance, where only you, your keyholder and CageCheck moderators can see it. Deleting the recording also takes the post down.

If you take it down yourself, your keyholder can't ask to post that video again.

Moderators and site settings

Anyone who can see the post can report it from the ••• menu, and CageCheck moderators review every report. If a moderator removes a video post, the penance shows it was taken off the feed by a CageCheck moderator, and that video can't be posted again. Posting penance videos can also be turned off for the whole site. While it's off, posted videos are hidden and keyholders can't ask.
