Smart lockboxes

Link an R+D Chastity Lockbox, TTLock or igloohome key box so releases unlock it or give you a one-time code. Beta.

A smart lockbox is a key box CageCheck can talk to. When you're released, CageCheck tells the box to unlock, or gives you a one-time code to type on its keypad. This is Beta: it always comes with a fail-safe and a maximum lock time (see How your lock is locked).

You only see this when CageCheck has switched a type of box on. Which ones are on can change.

Open Settings and find Devices (marked Beta).

R+D Chastity Lockbox or igloohome key box:

  1. Tap Link R+D Chastity Lockbox (or Link igloohome key box).
  2. Sign in on their page and allow CageCheck.
  3. You come back to Settings, and your boxes are listed under the account.

TTLock key box: TTLock works a little differently. CageCheck makes a TTLock account for you, and you move your box to it.

  1. Tap Link TTLock key box.
  2. In the TTLock app, open your key box → Settings → Transfer lock, and transfer it to the account shown (it starts with tt_).
  3. Keep the box's mechanical override key (if it has one) sealed somewhere you can always reach.
  4. Back in Devices, tap ↻ Refresh. Your box appears.
Settings → Devices with an R+D box and a TTLock box

Tap ↻ Refresh whenever you add a box to the account. Unlink… removes the account from CageCheck (the account itself stays with the company). You can't unlink an account while one of its boxes is in a lock.

Start a lock with your box

  1. On Home, under How it’s locked, choose 📶 Smart lockbox.
  2. Choose Your box. The hint underneath says how that box's own way out works.
  3. Choose your Maximum lock time and Your fail-safe, tick the box to confirm, and tap 🔒 Start lock.

An R+D box is told to lock when you start, and is told your maximum lock time, so it opens on its own then even if CageCheck can't reach it. TTLock and igloohome boxes lock when you close them.

What each box does

  • R+D Chastity Lockbox: releases tell the box to unlock. While you're locked, CageCheck checks about once a minute whether it reports locked. If it reports unlocked without a release, your keyholder is told once. The box's own emergency unlock works without Wi-Fi: hold Lock/Enter for about 2 seconds and confirm. Check in the R+D app that it's turned on for your box: if it can be turned off there, don't rely on it as your only fail-safe.
  • TTLock key box: releases give you a one-time code for the keypad. It works once, for 6 hours.
  • igloohome key box: releases give you a one-time code for the keypad.

What a box reports is never proof on its own. The app always says "the box reports".

When you're released

The way out opens straight away, whether you're released for a while or for good, use emergency unlock, or reach your maximum lock time:

  • The box was told to unlock: if it doesn't open, use your fail-safe.
  • A one-time code: type it on the keypad. The card says until when it works.

On a timed release, your lock page shows the code (or that the box was told to unlock) on the box card. After a lock ends, it stays on Home for 3 days and in your History (Show my box release).

If the box can't be reached

Boxes and their companies' servers sometimes don't answer. If that happens, you'll see We couldn’t reach your box, with your fail-safe. Your keyholder is told too.

  • If you need to get out now, use your fail-safe. Don't wait.
  • Otherwise, tap Try again. CageCheck never retries on its own, so nothing happens behind your back.

The same card has Get a new code when a one-time code has expired, and Send unlock again if an R+D box was told to unlock but didn't. These only work once you've been released or your lock has ended.

If an account stops working (for example you changed your password with the company), its chip says Reconnect: unlink it and link it again.
