Edit my post

✨ Edit my post has CageCheck's AI tidy up what you wrote. It fixes spelling and grammar, cuts filler and repetition, and suggests hashtags. When you're sharing to X or Bluesky, it also shortens your post to fit.

When you share to X or Bluesky

X takes 280 characters and Bluesky takes 300. That includes the link CageCheck adds to the post. When your text is too long, ✨ Edit my post (under the Text) says how far over it is.

1. Tap ✨ Edit my post. It takes about 10 to 30 seconds.
2. Your text is replaced with the edited version. Read it through: it's still your post, so check it says what you meant. Undo puts back what you had.
3. Tap any hashtags you want under Add hashtags. The number on each is how many Bluesky posts used it this week (with a ~ when it's an estimate, for the busiest ones). A hashtag that wouldn't fit is greyed out.
4. Post it as usual (see Share to X, Bluesky and anywhere).

If it's still a little over, trim it yourself, or tap ✨ Edit my post again.

When you write a post

In the post box on the feed, ✨ Edit my post shows under your text once you start writing. It tidies your post up without cutting it down, and suggests hashtags the same way. See The feed and your posts.

What it does and doesn't do

• It keeps your meaning, your voice, your @mentions and your links, and doesn't add anything you didn't say.
• It never posts anything. Whether you use the edit is up to you.
• It runs on CageCheck's own server. Your post isn't sent to an outside AI company, and CageCheck doesn't keep what you sent it.
• It edits one post at a time, and there's a daily limit. After each edit you can see how many you have left today.
• If you change your post while it's being edited, your text is kept and the edit isn't used. Tap ✨ Edit my post again when you're ready.
