My media

My media is your own collection of photos and videos on CageCheck. Upload lots at once, then use them in posts, messages, your diary, your profile and proof, without looking for the file on your device each time. Only you can see what's in My media.

Check-ins can't come from My media: they're always taken live with the CageCheck camera.

Find it

• On a phone: tap More, then My media.
• On a computer or tablet: choose More → My media in the menu on the left.

Add photos and videos

1. Tap ＋ Upload.
2. Choose as many photos and videos as you like. On a computer, you can also drop them anywhere on the page.

Each one shows under Uploads while it's sent and got ready, two at a time, then appears in your collection. Keep CageCheck open until they're sent: you can use the rest of the app meanwhile. If your connection drops, they carry on when it's back. Tap ✕ to cancel one, and Clear finished to tidy the list.

• Photos: JPG, PNG and WebP, up to 40 MB each. iPhone photos (HEIC) are turned into JPGs as they're added, where your browser can do that. Very large photos are kept at up to 4096 pixels on the longer side.
• Videos: MP4, MOV and WebM, up to 2 GB each. Keeping videos needs a verified ID: see Verify your ID.

Location and camera details are taken out of every photo and video you add.

Look through them

Use All, Photos and Videos to choose what's shown. Tap one to see it large or play it. From there:

• Post it starts a post with it on your feed.
• Download saves the original to your device.
• Delete deletes it from My media.

To delete several, tap Select, tap each one (or Select all), then tap Delete.

Use them anywhere

Once you have something in My media, it's offered wherever you can add a photo or video:

• Posts: tap 🗂️ My media in the post box. Choose photos (as many as your plan allows in a post), or one video. Photos get the same crop and question as photos from your device, and a video lets you choose the part to keep, without sending it again.
• Messages: the photo button next to the message box offers My media and your device. A video from My media is sent as a video message, so it can be up to 2 minutes.
• Your diary: 📷 Add photos or videos, then From My media.
• Your profile: Add photos on your Photos tab, and Change photo in Settings.
• Proof for a task or penance: tap From My media. It's stamped with your code like any proof, and stays private: only proof taken in the app can go on your feed. See Proof on the feed.

Using a photo or video makes a copy for that post, message or proof. Deleting it from My media later doesn't take it out of where you used it, and deleting a post doesn't touch My media.

How much you can keep

Your plan sets your storage:

• Player (free): 1 GB
• Player+: 50 GB
• Pro: 100 GB

Only what's in My media counts, not your posts, messages or profile photos. The meter at the top shows how much you're using.

A file that doesn't fit isn't added, and it says how much room you have left. If you move to a plan with less storage, nothing is deleted: you just can't add more until you're under it. See Plans and badges.

Ask for more storage

1. Tap Need more room? Ask for more storage.
2. Choose how much more you need (or Other), and say what it's for if you like.
3. Tap Ask for … GB more.

The CageCheck team looks at every request, and you get an alert with the answer. Extra storage stays if your plan changes. While you're waiting, you can tap Withdraw to take the request back.

Privacy

• Nobody else sees what's in My media. A photo or video is only seen where you use it, by whoever can see that post, message, entry or proof.
• CageCheck admins see how much space you use, never your photos or videos.
• Deleting something deletes it for good. When you delete your account, everything in My media is deleted too.

What you keep here follows the same rules as everything on CageCheck: only you, or adults who agreed to it, and nothing illegal. See Terms and policies.
