Community challenges

Find and join community challenges, follow the leaderboard, and earn a trophy for your profile.

Challenges are community goals with a start date, an end date and a leaderboard. The CageCheck team sets them up. You join, and CageCheck works out your progress from your locks and check-ins, so you never have to log anything.

Find challenges

  • On a phone: your Home screen shows a challenge card (Your challenges, or Challenge if you haven't joined one) while one is running or coming up. Tap All challenges to see the full list.
  • On a computer or tablet: choose Challenges in the menu on the left.
  • New challenges are also announced in the feed, with a Join button.

The Challenges page groups them under Happening now, Coming up and Finished. Each card shows the goal, the dates, how many people joined and how many finished.

The goals

Each challenge has one goal. It looks like one of these:

  • Be locked for 14 days in total: all your lock time during the challenge adds up.
  • Stay locked 7 days in a row: your longest single lock during the challenge counts.
  • Check in 30 times
  • Make 14 photo check-ins: rejected photos don't count.

Only what happens between the start and the end counts. Open the challenge and read the Rules card for anything else the team added.

Join a challenge

  1. Open the challenge.
  2. Tap Join challenge.

If it's already running, everything since it started counts straight away, so joining late is fine. If it's coming up, your progress starts when it begins, and you get an alert at the start.

Your name and progress show on the challenge's Leaderboard, which other members can see.

Follow your progress

Once you've joined, the challenge shows a progress bar, how far you've got (like "24 of 30") and your place (like "#2"). The leaderboard shows the top 50 and updates every minute. Members you've blocked, or who blocked you, don't appear on it.

Finish a challenge

Reach the target before the challenge ends and you've done it:

  • You get an alert, and the challenge shows 🏆 You did it.
  • A trophy with the challenge's name goes on your profile. Tapping it opens the challenge.
  • Your first finished challenge earns the Challenger achievement. See Achievements.
  • A post saying you completed it goes in the feed for the people who see your activity. If Activity in the feed is set to Off in Settings, nothing is posted. See Activity in the feed.

Leave a challenge

Tap Leave challenge on the challenge page. You come off the leaderboard straight away (there's no confirmation step). While the challenge is still running you can join again, and your progress comes back, because it's always worked out from your locks and check-ins.
