Squirrel Away

No-Nut November's game. Each day you check in, forage once for your stash. Crack tough nuts, keep the Raccoon away, and bring your stash to the Feast on Thanksgiving.

Squirrel Away runs from November 2 to Thanksgiving, November 26, 2026. Each day you check in, you forage once, and what you find goes into your stash. On Thanksgiving you bring your stash to the Feast, and every acorn in it becomes XP.

It's just for fun: nothing in Squirrel Away changes your lock, its timer or your keyholder's rules. Days are your own calendar, wherever you live.

Forage

  1. Check in as usual.
  2. Open Game Center, then Squirrel Away (or tap the card on your Home screen).
  3. Tap Forage. The card turns over.

You can forage once for each day you checked in. Check-ins since November 2 count, even from before your first visit, and those earlier days only find acorns (golden ones included). With several forages waiting from earlier days, Forage all of them does every waiting forage in one go.

The oak at the top of the page has a leaf for each day of the game. A leaf turns for each day you forage, and your stash fills the hollow at the bottom.

The cards

  • Acorns: 1, 2 or 3 for your stash.
  • A golden acorn: 5 acorns. Three golden acorns earn the Golden Stash badge.
  • A wishbone: a better grip on the Wishbone at Thanksgiving (see below). You can hold 3. After that, a wishbone is an acorn instead.
  • A cozy den: your next tough nut is skipped.
  • A tough nut: a dare to crack with a check-in within 48 hours. Cracking it adds acorns: 3 at tier 1, 5 at tier 2 and 8 at tier 3. The house tough nuts at tier 1 and 2 need a photo. A Keeper's own can ask for a photo, a video or just a check-in.

Tier 3 tough nuts only turn up if you switch on Harder dares near the bottom of the page. They're off unless you choose them, and it's the same switch as in Trick or Treat. The house's tier 3 tough nuts need a short video (a photo while check-in videos are switched off). If you switch Harder dares off, a tier 3 card that hasn't reached you yet (one you peeked at, or one with your Keeper) comes down to tier 2.

With a keyholder: the Keeper

If you have a keyholder, they're your Keeper. Each card you forage goes to them first, face down for you, and they can:

  • Let it stand.
  • Swap it for 3 acorns, a house tough nut, or a card of their own (a tough nut or a reward).
  • Serve seconds: make a tough nut one tier harder. They can't go past tier 2 unless you've switched on Harder dares.

If they haven't decided after 12 hours, the card stands as it is. Forages for earlier days don't go to the Keeper.

Once a day, your Keeper can also toss 1 to 3 acorns into your stash, with a note.

Keyholders find all of this on the Keeper tab: the cards to decide, proof to check, pleas to answer, acorns to toss and, at Thanksgiving, the stash to unlock.

Crack a tough nut

  1. On the check-in page, under Crack a tough nut, tick it.
  2. Add the photo or video it needs, and check in.

With a Keeper, they check your proof. It's cracked adds its acorns to your stash and gives you 25 XP for each tier. Not quite gives you at least 24 more hours to crack it again. Without a Keeper, it counts as cracked when you check in.

A tough nut you don't crack in time goes bad, and the Raccoon takes 2 acorns. Nothing else happens. While your account is on hold, or tasks and penances are paused, it waits.

Spend acorns

Each acorn you spend is one fewer in your stash at the Feast.

  • Peek (1): see your next card before you forage. Foraging then gives you that card.
  • Plead (2): ask for a tough nut to go down a tier (tier 1: let off). With a Keeper, they say yes or no, and a no gives you your acorns back. You get them back too if you crack it, drop it or it goes bad before they answer. Without a Keeper, it goes straight down.
  • Reroll (3): forage again for a tough nut's day, once. Only without a Keeper.

The Raccoon

If a day ends without a check-in while yours was due, the Raccoon raids your stash and takes 3 acorns. On a 24-hour schedule, that's any day without a check-in. On a 48-hour schedule, it's the second day in a row. The Raccoon never comes:

  • while your account is on hold, or tasks and penances are paused;
  • on a day you weren't locked;
  • once your stash is at the Feast.

A check-in you saved on your phone with no signal, and sent later, gives back what the Raccoon took for that day.

Thanksgiving: the Feast

Check in on Thanksgiving, November 26, for the Thanksgiving Feast badge and the No-Nut November 2026 avatar frame. Anyone who checks in that day gets them, playing or not.

Then tap Bring your stash to the Feast. With a Keeper, they hold the key: they unlock it, and if they haven't within 12 hours, it unlocks by itself. Without a Keeper, it opens straight away. When it opens:

  • every acorn becomes 2 XP;
  • with 100 acorns or more, you get the Ready for Winter badge;
  • your Keeper gets the Keeper of the Stash badge, if they're still your keyholder (not when your stash is brought and opened for you after Sunday).

Missed the day? Leftovers count: a check-in from November 27 to 29 lets you bring your stash too. The Feast badge and frame are for Thanksgiving Day only. If you checked in that weekend but didn't bring your stash, it's brought and opened for you once your Sunday is over.

Once your stash is at the table, it's final: no more foraging, spending or tosses. Forage anything waiting first. A plea your Keeper hasn't answered gets its acorns back before the stash goes. A tough nut cracked after that still gives you XP, but its acorns don't reach the stash.

When your stash is open, Share it puts a post on your feed with how many acorns you brought.

The Wishbone

From November 19, you and your Keeper each make a wish, once you've foraged at least once. Neither of you sees the other's until the pull. On Thanksgiving weekend, once you've checked in, either of you pulls the wishbone:

  • Your odds start even, and each wishbone you found foraging adds 5%, up to 65%.
  • You get the bigger half: your wish comes true. Your Keeper grants it (the app can't do that for them), then marks it granted.
  • Your Keeper gets the bigger half: their wish becomes a tough nut for you, to crack with a check-in within 48 hours. Your safeword drops it, as always.

Without a keyholder, you pull against the House: if it wins, nothing happens. Whoever gets the bigger half (not the House) gets the Lucky Break badge. If nobody has pulled it by the end of Sunday, it snaps by itself.

Keyholders make their wish on the Keeper tab, with its tier and the proof it needs. The person's hard limits show above it.

The leaderboard

The Leaderboard tab shows the biggest stashes, the longest runs of check-in days, the most tough nuts cracked, and the Keepers whose stashes were opened at the Feast. If you hide your lock on your profile, you're not listed.

After Thanksgiving

There are no new forage days after Thanksgiving, but days you checked in and haven't foraged yet can still be foraged until Sunday, as long as your stash isn't at the Feast yet. Tough nuts still open can be cracked until December 1. Then the results are final and open cards are void. Squirrel Away stays in the Game Center until December 6.

Everyone can also fill the Harvest together during No-Nut November, playing or not.
