Check-ins on the feed

Your check-in photos and videos as posts, blurred until tapped: one at a time, or every one with Post my check-ins (your past ones too). When your keyholder requires it, posting one later, and taking them down.

Your check-in photos and videos can go on the feed as posts, for your followers or for all members. You can choose each time, or turn on Post my check-ins and every one goes up by itself, your past ones too. Your keyholder can also ask you to post them.

Who can post them

  • You need a verified ID (see Verify your ID).
  • Only photos and videos taken with the in-app camera can go on the feed. A photo chosen from your library can still count for your check-in, but it can't be posted.
  • CageCheck can switch this off for everyone. When it's off, posted check-ins are hidden too. Check-in videos also need video posts to be on.

One at a time, as you check in

  1. Open Check in.
  2. If this check-in needs a photo or video, take it as usual. If it doesn't, tap 📸 Add a photo to share on the feed. Your keyholder reviews it with the check-in, just like a required one.
  3. Under the photo or video, switch on Share this photo on the feed (or this video).
  4. Choose 👥 Followers or 🌐 All members, and add a caption if you like (up to 500 characters).
  5. Tap ✓ Confirm — still locked.

A photo goes up straight away: tap See your post. A video goes up once it's ready, a minute or so later. If one can't be posted (for example, it came from your library), your check-in still counts and you're told why.

Post my check-ins

  1. Open Settings and go to Check-ins on the feed.
  2. Choose Followers or All members.
  3. CageCheck says how many of your past check-ins will go up, and how many can't. Tap Post them.
Check-ins on the feed in Settings

From then on every check-in photo and video goes on your feed. Your past ones go up too, a few at a time, at the dates you took them, so they don't fill the top of anyone's feed. Settings shows how it's going, then how many went up and why any didn't:

  • photos chosen from your library;
  • photos already deleted after your photo history ran out (see Photo check-ins);
  • photos your keyholder rejected.

On the check-in screen, the switch is already on. Switch it off to skip one, or pick a different audience or add a caption for that one.

Changing Followers to All members (or back) changes the posts it already made too.

Turning it off

Choose Off. CageCheck asks what to do with the posts already up:

  • Stop, and keep what's posted;
  • Stop, and take them down: every post this setting made comes down, with its copy of the photo or video. Ones you posted yourself stay.

Posts you took down never go back up by themselves.

When your keyholder requires it

Your keyholder can ask for your check-ins on your feed, for your followers or for all members. You're notified, and Settings shows the request:

Your keyholder's request in Settings
  • Agree: Post my check-ins goes on (your past ones go up too), and it's locked for up to 90 days: until then you can't turn it off, or show them to fewer people, unless your keyholder lets you. You can still show them to more people. For 24 hours after you agree, you can undo it on your Powers page (Changed my mind). In your first week together it doesn't lock until day 8, when you confirm it.
  • Not now: nothing changes, and your keyholder is told. They can ask again a day later.

Once you've agreed, Settings says Morgan requires this until the date, and when you agreed. On the check-in screen the switch stays on.

  • Ask Morgan to let me stop sends them a note (once a day).
  • Once the date has passed, it isn't locked any more: you can turn it off, or show them to fewer people, whenever you like. Morgan is told.
  • You can always delete a single post: it's your photo. Your keyholder is told.
  • Ending your pairing ends it, and your keyholder can lift it any time.

It can also be part of a contract: when you both sign one with Check-ins on the feed, your signature is your agreement. See Contracts.

For keyholders

On the page of the member you hold, the Check-ins on their feed card shows where things stand: posted by their own choice, asked and waiting, Not now, or agreed and when.

The Check-ins on their feed card on Morgan's page for Riley
  • Require it for their followers or Require it for all members: they're asked, and it only applies once they agree. Asking for no more than they've already agreed to just changes it, and they're told.
  • Lift the rule (or Cancel the request): they can turn it off again. Nothing already posted changes.

Posting one later

  • From History: open History → Check-ins and tap Post it on the feed next to the check-in. Ones already on the feed say On the feed.
  • From its post: on your own "checked in" post, tap 📷 Add the photo to this post (or 🎥 Add the video).

Either way, choose who sees it and add a caption. It goes up at the date of the check-in, and its reactions and comments move to the new post. A check-in can be posted once: if you delete the post, it doesn't come back.

What the post shows

  • Your photo or video, with its stamp (your check-in code, serial number and the time), blurred until someone taps it.
  • Check-in photo · Day 12 (or Check-in video, or Locked back up after a release), and "(late)" if the check-in was late.
  • Your keyholder's review as it happens: Waiting for review, then ✓ Approved by Morgan or Rejected by Morgan.
  • Your caption.

People can react and comment like on any post. The post takes the place of that check-in's activity post, so it isn't shown twice.

Keeping and deleting

  • The post has its own copy of the photo or video. It stays on your profile until you delete the post, even after the private one in your history is deleted.
  • Deleting the post doesn't change your check-in or its private photo.
  • If your keyholder rejects the photo, the post says so. Copies you shared from it to X or Bluesky are deleted when you delete the post.
