The Holiday Lock

From Friday, November 27 until New Year's Day is over, CageCheck has its holiday look: snow, string lights, a star by your lock timer, and your padlock tied up in a bow. Say happy holidays to everyone, whatever you celebrate.

It's just for fun: nothing here changes your lock, its timer or your keyholder's rules.

Pick your wrap

Your lock is gift-wrapped, and you choose the wrap. It dresses your lock (in the menu, on your lock timer and on your Home screen) and colors CageCheck, for you only:

• Ribbon: evergreen, a cranberry bow and gold. This is the one you have until you pick.
• Buffalo Check: red and black plaid with a cream bow.
• Snowfall: midnight blue with falling snow and an ice-blue bow.
• Knit: an oatmeal knit with a pine-green bow, and caramel.

To pick one, tap 🎀 Wrap on your lock card on Home, or go to Settings → Look → Your wrap. You can change it as often as you like. Everyone sees their own wrap, never yours.

The app's icon: while the look is on, the icon in your browser tab is your wrap. If you add CageCheck to your Home Screen during the holidays, its icon is your wrap too. An app you installed before keeps its icon, or your phone may update it on its own after a day or so.

Rather keep the usual look? Switch off Seasonal theme in Settings → Look. It stays off for later seasonal looks too, until you switch it back on.

Gift tags

A gift tag is a short note (up to 80 characters) on the lock card, between a keyholder and their sub:

• A keyholder writes one for each person whose keys they hold. It shows on that person's lock card.
• A locked member (or a switch) writes one for their keyholder. It shows on the keyholder's page for them.

To write one, tap 🏷️ Write … a gift tag: a sub finds it on Home, under their lock, and a keyholder on their page for that person (Home → the person). Type your note and tap Save. They get an alert the first time. You can Edit or Remove yours, and Hide one written to you (it stays hidden, even if they change it). Tags stay up until New Year's Day is over, and go if the pairing ends.

A switch can have a tag with their keyholder and one with each person whose keys they hold: each pairing has its own.

Only the two of you see them.

Wrap Day: Friday, November 27

The Longest Night: Monday, December 21

The winter solstice. Check in between 6 PM and midnight your time to earn the Longest Night badge.

Midnight: New Year's Eve

Check in between 11:30 PM on December 31 and 12:30 AM on January 1, your time, to earn the First Lock of 2027 badge and a 2027 avatar frame. If you're offline at midnight, a check-in taken then still counts once it's sent.
